Aaand finally I’ve finished a book! A whole week I went without finishing one. I’m going to do a story/post tomorrow on why it took me so long and what I’ve been up to. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jessica Tidy has to return to her home town following the death of her mother. The town has bad memories for her, and she hasn’t been back in years. When Jess was 16, she made an accusation against a teacher and the consequences of this still affect Jess, her siblings and the teacher’s family. How will Jess’ return affect everything? And what really happened when she was 16?
I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. I thought the characters were well rounded and interesting. I liked the way it played out and the way I was questioning some of the facts until the end. I do wish we had seen a bit more of Mark’s (the accused) character. We see him through his wife and through Jess but we don’t see a lot of his daily life or his interaction with his family following the accusation from his own point of view. I think that would have been a good addition to the book. Other than that, I thought it was a good book. To be honest I wasn’t like mad about it, I enjoyed it but I’ve read better (and also worse). It was one of those books that I enjoyed but wouldn’t be going around raving about it.
