Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) adores Christmas. But this year is set to be different. Her parents normally host, but they have decided to move to trendy Shoreditch, and have asked Becky to host Christmas this year. What can go wrong? Becky’s sister, Jess, wants a vegan turkey, she doesn’t know what to buy Luke, and everyone keeps giving her suggestions on how to do Christmas. Will she pull it off?
I didn’t realise when I picked this up from the library that it was part of a series. I don’t think that really affected the story, and I was never really confused. The only part I was unsure of was how Becky and Jess were half sisters, as that was most likely explained in an earlier novel. I have been reading thrillers for ages now, and I was craving something a bit more lighthearted. This hit the spot perfectly. Becky was so naturally funny and her relationship with shopping was gas. It reminded me of the Aisling Series and of Marian Keyes. It was so easy to read very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something that’s not like a thriller or murder.
