Book Review: ONE DAY IN DECEMBER (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) by @josiesilverauthor
Genre: Contemporary Romance
After Laurie experiences love at first sight with Jack at a bus stop, she is shocked when her best friend, Sarah, brings him home as her new and very serious boyfriend. Will she tell Sarah that Jack is the “bus boy” she’s been searching for? Will Jack recognizer her like she did him? And, how will the repercussions of this history affect all of their relationships going forward?
“Sometimes you just meet the right person at the wrong time.”
I absolutely loved this book and found the portrayal of the various relationships (boyfriend/girlfriend, best friends, friends, parent/child, etc) to be real, raw, messy, and complicated just like real life! Since Laurie was quirky and a bit flighty, she reminded me of Lou from Me Before You (5 stars), one of my favorite characters ever. Besides the ending, my next favorite part was when Sarah took Laurie to a Grease-themed event for her birthday. Since I’ve been a huge fan since childhood, I thought it would be amazing to attend something like that. Quite a few scenes made me tear up and two made me cry, so if you’re in the mood for a tangled, intricate love story, then I’d highly recommend this one.
