Book Review: THE COMEBACK (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Ella Berman
After leaving her acting days (and Able, her controlling director) behind, 22 year old Grace decides to make a “comeback.” After being manipulated and abused at such a young age and for so many years, will she finally be brave enough to speak her truth?
“Since the age of fifteen, I’ve never even dared to want to be happy. I’m just trying to stay alive.”
I enjoyed this sneak peek into the life of a young Hollywood actress, and I was even more fascinated after reading the author’s note in which she explains that she’d written it in 2017 just before the movement began. The first half dragged a bit, but as soon as it hit the second half, whoa. Hang onto your hats because you’re in for a bumpy ride full of revenge and retribution as Grace gears up to regain control of her life. I found this debut quick, impressive and extremely insightful.
