Book Review: WILDLAND (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) by Rebecca Hodge
When her breast cancer returns, Kat retreats to the mountains for a time of reflection. Unfortunately, just as she’s settling into her month long respite, a forest fire erupts, and she must save Lily and Nirav, the children that are spending the night at her cabin, two dogs… and herself. How will the fire affect her decision? Is she truly ready to die?
I couldn’t help but wonder why the two dads in this story trusted Kat with their children right after meeting her (especially for a sleepover!) but once I got over that, I enjoyed this adventurous debut immensely. The heat of the fire and their fear was palpable. One part towards the end made me tear up, and I look forward to more from this debut author!
