Claire has been married to Byron for a couple of years, but she still feels second to his late wife, Colleen. Colleen isn’t a vindictive ex wife, but instead a tragic dead wife taken before her time. They live in Colleen’s house, surrounded by her paintings. Claire feels she will never compare. Then strange emails begin to fill Claire’s inbox and strange phone calls plague her. The strange thing is, the emails are signed Colleen. Colleen’s body was never recovered- she couldn’t be still alive… could she?
I was not overly impressed with this book. The storyline was good but I just didn’t find myself looking forward to reading it or dying to read the next chapter. The ending was so underwhelming. There were so many questions left unanswered, so many things I just had to assume the answer to. There was a number of issues throughout the book which the ending just didn’t clear up. There was a mention at the end of how things turned out for the characters but they didn’t give any definitive answers so I was left wandering about quite a bit. I don’t think I’d be in a rush to read another book by this author. Yes, the storyline was good but it was just not executed properly for me.
