On an island off the windswept Irish coast, guests gather for the wedding of the year – the marriage of Jules Keegan and Will Slater. The wedding cake has barely been cut when one of the guests is found dead. And as a storm unleashes its fury on the island, everyone is trapped. All have a secret. All have a motive.
One guest won’t leave this wedding alive . . .
I really enjoyed this book! I absolutely love the way Lucy Foley writes and the alternative point of views makes the book so much better. I love knowing different characters perspectives so this is something I really enjoy about Foley’s writing. I read The Hunting Party recently and while both were absolutely great, I liked the story of The Guest List a bit better. I did actually prefer the ending of the Hunting Party just because it had more of a conclusive ending for the characters. The epilogue for the Guest List didn’t provide a complete ending and I was kind of left wondering what happened next. That’s a good sign though, I was so invested in the characters that I wanted to find out what happened to the characters! The other thing I found interesting is how many of the characters are quite unlikeable- it’s weird but I like that in a book. I really am not a fan of books where the author makes their characters are unrealistic because the author is trying to make them likeable. I would definitely recommend that you read this book, it’s easy to read and I flew through it- perfect lockdown reading🤓
