On the eleventh day of Christmas…. do you ever read a book that for some reason, and you don’t know why, you just can’t warm to it? This is how I felt about this book. Honestly, the story was good, the characters were grand and I always enjoy books similar to it. But I couldn’t get into this one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, just not for me! It essentially focuses on Leah who moves into a new flat with her boyfriend. She strikes up a friendship with her neighbour, Anton, who has been convicted of killing his ex wife and has just been released from jail for the crime. Leah is unaware of this. We see the story of their friendship and the story of one of the neighbours who knew Anton and the wife he was convicted of murdering. It is a good story, and I honestly can’t say the story was bad or the characters were annoying, it just didn’t click with me. However, I think it might have just been me? Or one of those things? I definitely wouldn’t write off reading it if you like thrillers.
Happy Christmas Eve everyone
